What is the Entrepreneurial Mindset and How is it Making a Difference?

Paper Sessions (1.5 hours)Leading Change for the 21st Century 03:00 PM - 03:30 PM (Asia/Singapore) 2018/11/13 07:00:00 UTC - 2018/11/13 07:30:00 UTC
Attitudinal emphasis on entrepreneurial success and the concepts within the Entrepreneurial Mindset framework are not new to the international histories of navigators and cultural innovators and designers. However, where some may undertake Entrepreneurship study to achieve the career pinnacles of entrepreneurial acclaim, others don’t aspire to such heights.
The aim of Entrepreneurial Mindset education is to develop new understandings and approaches to mastering the Entrepreneurial Mindset concepts of resilience, ambition, innovation, operational skills and motivation. These concepts can support the leadership and entrepreneurialism of their own lives and entrepreneurial aspirations.
This presentation will discuss:
- The ‘Entrepreneurial Mindset’
- The Entrepreneurial Mindset Programme and Development
- The impacts of Entrepreneurial Mindset education
1. Mindset (initial development and identification)
-                 Growth mindset
-                 Entrepreneurial leadership
-                 Entrepreneurial traits
-                 Personality and character development
2. Enterprise (innovation and entrepreneurship)
-                 Business acumen, development and innovation
-                 Products, services and social entrepreneurship
-                 Online, apps, technology and functionality
-                 Operations, marketing and design
3. Review and Analysis (self-reflection and mastery)
4. Models and Mentors (success and resilience)
Mindset is an important part of entrepreneurial success and can be developed from a very young age. The aim of this Entrepreneurial Mindset programme development example is to support junior students starting their educational journey in secondary school to prepare them for the challenges and growth possible over the next 5 years. The method of achieving this programme aim is through teaching what mindset means, the types of mindsets, specifically the Entrepreneurial Mindset, and the tools to succeed and overcome adversity.
The methodology used in this project is an inquiry based learning approach. The research is based on the implementation of a uniquely developed programme to a group of students and the findings and developments are reviewed and analysed. The research is student focussed with the students being the participants.
This presentation concludes with an overview of the 10 week programme and   the findings and impacts of its implementation.
